Welcome to the NCN Work Experience Program information page. The following information
will help you determine if you are eligible to eligible to apply for job in NCN
this year, It will also provide a guideline of the hiring process and a direct link
to the Careers page for resume submission.
Objectives
The Program has the following objectives:
- To promote the benefits of education as key to youth's participation in the labour
market.
- To support the development and enhancement of young people's essential employability
skills, such as communication, problem solving and working with others.
- To introduce youth to a variety of career options.
- To help youth acquire skills by providing wage subsidies for mentored work experience;
and/or for mentored school-based work and study opportunities.
When to Apply
Open Date: March 1, 2010 Closing Date: June 30, 2010
Who Can Apply?
To be eligible to apply under this program you must meet the following criteria
- Must be NCN band member living on reserve.
- You must be within age range 15 - 30 inclusive
- You may participate in this program once.
- in possession of a Social Insurance Number (card) at time of hire
- at time of this application, you are currently not enrolled in a secondary or post-secondary
educational institution or institution of higher learning on a full-time basis for
the 2009/2010 school year.
Length of employment: may vary from 6 months to 11 months
