The following information will help you determine if you are eligible to work as
summer student employee this year, It will also provide a guideline of the hiring
process and a direct link to the Careers page for resume submission.
When to Apply
Open Date: February 15, 2010
Closing Date: May 20, 2010
Who Can Apply?
To be eligible to apply for summer student position you must meet the following
criteria
- Must be NCN band member
- minimum legal age requirement is 15, however, for positions relating to construction
related activities, the minimum age requirement is 16
- in possession of a Social Insurance Number (card) at time of hire
- at time of this application, you are currently enrolled in a secondary or post-secondary
educational institution or institution of higher learning on a full-time basis for
the 2009/2010 school year, returning to full time studies in 2010/2011
OR
- at time of this application, you are currently enrolled in Grade 12 for 1 (one)
semester only and have full intentions of applying to full time studies in the fall
of 2010
- returning summer students must have held a summer student position in 2009 and received
a favourable re-hire status on their end of season performance appraisal (information
will be verified at time of consideration)
- Length of employment: may vary from 6 weeks to 10 weeks
