Description:	Position Summary: The Maintenance person will work in collaboration and in consultation with Maintenance/Custodial Services and the Director of Education or his/her delegate. The Maintenance Person maintains daily, periodically, and annually as required, teacherages, other building and grounds in a safe, clean, attractive and efficient condition within the guidelines, regulations and policies of the Nelson House Education Authority.
Job Requirements:	Duties and Responsibilities: • Participates in routine maintenance of equipment and fixtures; • Repairs fans and motors; • Services and replaces electrical controls; • Repairs to interior and exterior lighting fixtures and equipment; • Replacement or repair of electrical fixtures, such as plugs and plates; • Services time clock systems; • Inspects fire alarm equipment and fixtures; • Assists the mechanical trades people in the installation and repair of pipes, heating lines, controls, pumps and mechanical systems; • Assists in diagnosing plumbing problems and offers applicable information when requested; • The painting and patching of schools, classrooms and other facilities – interior and exterior; • Mixing and matching and blending of all paint and colours; • Installation of painting related materials such as wallpaper and graphics; • Assists in the carpentry upkeep and maintenance of buildings and grounds; • Constructs the alterations and modifications of existing buil

Minimum Qualification:	• Valid Manitoba Drivers Licence; • Journeyman status desired, however a combination of practical and technical knowledge in the maintenance field is acceptable; • Must have some knowledge in carpentry, electrical and plumbing;
